Connie Boswell

Biography

Connie J. Boswell considers the use of color and light the distinctive feature of her work. Using acrylics, and painting exclusively with a palette knife, Boswell picks up several hues, mixes until marbleized, then lays the paint down as a single stroke. Seen from a distance, her work appears to the viewer as a realistically rendered image; however, it actually is an abstract mosaic of color. It is this unique approach to painting that lends to the brilliance of color and energy in Boswell’s work.

Boswell is a member of the National Oil and Acrylics Painters’ Society, and her work is included in numerous private and corporate collections throughout North America. She was born and raised in Iowa, and currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri
