Adamo was born in Toronto, Canada and attended the University of Toronto and Sheridan College. As a young artist, his work was mainly of realistic landscapes, but he made his living through commissioned portraits of members of the Canadian Parliament. After a few years his lifelong interest in the abstract took precedence, and has led to his featured presence in numerous exhibitions throughout North America and Europe. In 1990, he was the subject of a television series devoted to Italian-Canadian artists. Pietro Adamo’s works can be found in private and public collections around the world.
