Biography
An award-winning photographer, Mikel Covey began his career in San Francisco and Los Angeles as a fashion and advertising photographer before moving to Salt Lake City in the early 80s. His work has been published in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Bazaar, Architectural Digest and Utah Homes & Garden. Although he still works in traditional photographic processes, Mikel was named in 1995 by New York’s Photo District News as one of the top 20 photographers in the country working in digital media. His work was included in the First New York Society of Illustrators Digital Salon. His photographs of gardens have earned him one of journalism’s highest awards—the Ozzie. Mikel finds inspiration for his art everywhere, whether he is travelling, exploring the natural beauty of Utah or the intricate grace of a single flower. His work has been exhibited in galleries and auctions and is included in many private collections.
