Yvonne Poelstra-Holzhaus

Biography

Yvone Poelstra-Holzhaus was born in the city of Naarden, West Holland in 1946. Whilst she worked as a free-lance photographer she became increasingly motivated to change her life and work. Teaching herself, she eventually turned to painting and in the early 90's she started painting flowers in an inspiring and original manner, developing her own inimitable style based upon her earlier photographic eye - her use of 'pf' colour is unique.

On her bigger canvasses, using linen, she works with oil paints to encapsulate her 'Flower Power'. YVON says "People are looking in a different way at nature, because of my paintings. If you can achieve that through your paintings it is huge.
