Biography
Barbara Carter's signature style developed out of an exploration of alternative photographic processes and digital manipulation. Initially, she was attracted to the Polaroid transfer process because it creates a particular mood and texture, an impression rather than a literal expression. Her Polaroid transfer composites combine this process with digital manipulation to create a unique interpretation of Southwestern and European landscape. Carter’s images have been exhibited at top fine art shows across the country. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband, fine art photographer John Charbonneau and their son.
