Biography

Dr. Shams Rasheed is a fine art photographer with more than 30 years of Cibachrome printing background and, more recently, digital photography. His work reflects a contemporary and often abstract interpretation of Nature. Saba Rasheed is a painter working primarily in water media on wood and linen. Her work is abstract with rich texture created with thin, translucent layers juxtaposed with intricate line-work and often accompanied with Urdu and Arabic calligraphy. As father and daughter artists, they share love for each other and a passion for creating beauty in different mediums that become one body of work.

“Creating a visual symmetry from combining our work involves a successful procession of so many technical steps,” says Saba Rasheed. “However, I feel we achieve this primarily because our individual styles and understanding of each other’s work compliments the other.”
