Biography
“Surrounded by a creative family, it was only natural for me to pursue a design career” Marcel Venter formally entered the world of art during a stint in the Air Force of South Africa. Over the past twenty years Marcel enjoyed the opportunity to work with a diverse client base doing graphic, environmental and web design. Branching into Fine Arts was predictable, given the daily inspiration of his wife, an accomplished artist. In his contemporary collages, Marcel’s design roots show themselves plainly through an orderly treatment of elements. Layers of texture, vivid color and the sporadic showing of text. He is inspired by architecture, fast machines, furniture, food . . . and, of course, coffee. With his wife and two sons, Marcel moved to the United States in 2001, making The Rocky Mountains his home and studio.
