Biography
Rene Griffith is largely self-taught in photography. Polaroid films and their creative possibilities caught Rene’s attention while living in San Francisco in the late 1990’s. She began creating Impressionistic imagery using a 1972 Polaroid camera and “sculpting and pushing” the emulsion directly on the film by hand to create painterly photographs. It was this combination of spontaneity and magic that intrigued her to continue perfecting her style in this medium.
