Jennifer Rasmusson

Biography

Jennifer Rasmusson is best known for her abstract oil paintings. She works is series of eight to ten paintings at a time. She moves from one painting to another, letting each painting influence the other, yet each painting finds its own voice.

A few years ago she started working in mixed media on canvas, combining representational still life elements with abstracted collage backgrounds. Layering the canvas with old papers, ticket stubs, stamps and other mixed media allows her to create rich texture.

Rasmusson attended the Lyme Academy of Fine Art in Connecticut and the Dundas Valley School of Art in Canada.
