Lotte received his formal training at the Fine Art School of Dae-Gu, where he learned to paint in a traditional European, "en plein air" style. However, after many years of travelling the world and painting intricate village scenes, charming gardens, bustling harbors, and multi-dimensional landscapes with lush layers of color, Lotte's work has evolved into a distinct, engaging style which has whetted the appetite of many sophisticated collectors and galleries. His popular handling of the oil medium may be characterized by small, energetic strokes of the palette knife spontaneously applied with a master's keen control.
Most of the Lotte's landscapes depict places he has visited during his journeys though-out Korea, Europe and the United States, while some are poetic fusions of different places, times and memories.
