Inna Panasenko

Biography

…born in 1977 in Caucasia, Russia, she lives and works in Germany.

Symbols of Elementary Power

Inna Panasenko has created a new series of motifs featuring particularly powerful examples of Spanish fighting bulls. What is fascinating about these images is the way in which she uses black tones. The density of the covering of colour is enough to suggest 3-dimensionality. Like shadows, the silhouette of the bull is cast onto a red background. The ease with which the bulls move, the rhythm of their huge bodies and the dance-like harmony of the varying positions of their heads contribute enormously to the impact of the picture.
