Chromatic Reveries

Although reality is very much part of Gabriella Benevolenza’s work, it is reinvented by the artist. We are drawn along, gradually losing sight of recognisable landmarks, moving towards a place where towns and objects are lines on the horizon, outlined by a variety of shading colours. Earth and sky, top and bottom, seem to reflect each other. Perfectly mastered tones which are clear and pure, bright and sombre, contribute to the paintings’ dreamlike atmosphere, creating a unique, almost ineffable universe. Gabriella’s paintings depict a phantasmagorical dream world, a place of pure serenity.
