Pere Salinas, born in Barcelona in 1957, is one of the most fascinating artists of the Spanish contemporary artistic panorama. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, although did not complete his studies there because of differences between his own personal philosophy and the ideas of some of his professors. He has toured the main museums of Europe. The Catalonian painter obtained international recognition in 1993 at the ART Frankfurt - the International Fair of Contemporary Art in Frankfurt - where he participated under the auspices of the Eude Gallery of Barcelona. To fully understand his work, one must be aware that his artistic life was strongly influenced by a serious illness he had to face at a very early age, that would lead him to discover his love for music, literature and poetry. Also, one must realize that his work cannot be appreciated without taking into account his political and social commitment.
