Michael Downs is an award-winning illustrator who, several years ago, made the successful transition into the field of fine art. Much of Michael's life has been spent travelling, studying and painting in Europe and Canada. He is an exceptionally versatile artist with an impressionistic style, choosing to express himself in many themes born out of inspirations from stories, poetry and music. He chooses his mediums based on what he deems the most appropriate for the "feel" of the piece he is creating. While painting has become a full time career for Michael, he still paints simply for the joy of doing it. He feels the words of artist Andrew Wyeth express his sentiments toward his work most appropriately - "One's art goes as far and as deep as one's love goes."
