Heather Donovan has been drawing and painting since age 6 when she won her first award in Abstract Painting. As an only child, her creativity and imagination soared. Her favorite hobby became writing plays for the neighborhood children and reproducing works of Master painters that lined the walls of her family’s home. While receiving her Bachelors and subsequently her Masters Degree in Psychology, Heather continued her passion with drawing courses, but painting just came naturally. Inspired by artists like Kandinsky, Van Gogh, and Renoir, color and simplicity mixed to create her own unique and identifiable style. Her eclectic works mimic her high-energy personality and have become a favorite of interior decorators due to her colorful take on the world. The subject matter of her paintings range from cityscapes and bold abstracts, to whimsical florals and modern-retro still lifes. After the birth of her son and twins, all within 19 months, Heather left her career as a Mental Health professional to pursue painting full time in 2002. Her work is now collected worldwide.
