Kate Birch studied painting and drawing at the University of Utah and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The patterns and textures in her mixed-media floral paintings are inspired by her love for textile design, the decorative influence of William Morris and the Arts & Crafts movement, as well as patterns from the Orient, Morocco and Mexico. Kate is constantly studying pattern and design found in fabric, rugs, tiles and papers. Her paintings emerge through a process of additive and deductive layering which creates their multi-dimensional appearance. The creation of her art is focused primarily on process, and the patterns emerge through an extensive push and pull of paint. Kate Birch lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband and their three children. She exhibits her work in numerous galleries and festivals, as well as in many private art shows.

"Trend-setting, Imaginative, Mod, Colourful." As a unique fine art print resource, Poems continues to embrace contemporary art and artists. Poems are passionate about art and work closely with the artists they publish always looking for something unique either in colour, subject matter or treatment. The concept of "Poems" originated from a philosophy that art is poetry for the eye and stirs feeling, just as words entice the ear. Every piece of art is produced by an artist with a measure of passion.
