Daly creates high gloss impressions of Americana showing everyday incidents that invoke a simpler way of life. His beautifully balanced, warmly lit canvases are achieved with a time-consuming creative process and painstaking attention to detail. In his nostalgic portrayals of children and their pets, he conveys a sentimental mood by striving to create an empathy between viewer and subject. His large studio collection of costumes and artifacts supports his concern for authenticity in his work.
A native of Oklahoma, Daly studied art at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. His paintings are in the permanent collections of museums and historical societies throughout the United States and he has received many awards, including a People's Choice Award and selection by the Public Communications Foundation for the Public Broadcasting System's release of the six-part series, "The West of the Imagination."
