Rita grew up surrounded by art, as both her parents are professional artists. “Everyone assumed I would end up doing something in art coming from such an artistic family, but I really tried to fight it in my younger days. Eventually I realized that I just had to paint and become a professional artist. The creative urge inside me had won.” Over the course of the past few years, Rita has explored landscape and still life themes in her work. As a self-taught painter, she uses acrylic on panel and canvas to capture the beauty of everyday things in a traditional painting style. Each of her paintings reveals a command of technique and materials. This strong sense of design as well as a romantic feel and painterly quality separate her work from the rest. Rita’s long list of gallery exhibits, art shows, and studio/home shows have given her quite a following. Presently, Rita is engaged in many solo, group and gallery exhibitions and her work hangs in numerous private and corporate collections.
